Camp Subsidy through the SUNSHINE FUND

Every child deserves the opportunity to go to camp regardless of race, faith, family income, or special needs. Camp is a place where everyone belongs.

The Manitoba Camping Association Sunshine Fund is here to help children experience the benefits of camp. We would not be able to provide this support without help from our generous donors and granting agencies.

To apply for financial assistance, the Sunshine Fund application is available to download by clicking on the link below. To find out if you qualify for assistance, please review the Statistics Canada Low Income Cut-Off chart below. If you qualify, the maximum subsidy amount is $700.00 per child per year for a child attending overnight camp.

Example 1 - A family of two people (parent plus child) who has an annual gross household income of $36,000 does not qualify for Sunshine Fund assistance as the Low Income Cut-Off is $32,899 for families of this size.

Example 2 - A family of four people (2 parents and two children or 1 parent and 3 children) with an annual gross household income of $42,000 does qualify for Sunshine Fund assistance as the Low Income Cut-Off for this family size is $49,106.

Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. The number of children we can subsidize annually is dependent on public donations and grants that we receive.

Completed Sunshine Fund applications can be emailed, mailed, faxed, dropped off in person or left in our mailbox at the MCA office at 1215 Henderson Hwy, Unit F.

About Us
Manitoba Camping Association/Sunshine Fund
is a registered charity that provides financial support to children and youth whose families experience financial barriers that prevent them from participating in healthy recreation activities.

 

Each year, MCA, through the Sunshine Fund, sends around 600 children to various camp programs throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. 

Our goal is to raise enough money to provide more children the opportunity to experience camp and all that it has to offer, both now and in the future.

Play a leadership role in promoting and supporting the community of organized camps, encouraging the growth and recreational experiences for children, youth and families.
