Risk Management
According to the MCA Standards for Accreditation, camps are required to document accidents and incidents (i.e. disclosure of abuse).
The following is required to be documented and reviewed at the end of each camp session/season.
-
name of person completing form and position (i.e. lifeguard, volunteer, kitchen staff).
-
name of all people involved.
-
date, location and time of the incident.
-
detailed description of the facts of the accident (events leading up to, mechanism of injury, action taken).
-
signature of person completing form and signature confirming review by leadership team.
The MCA must be notified as soon as possible of any major incidents and if media has been in contact with the camp.
