About Our Camp
Camp Wasaga offers 19 insulated
cabins, a beautiful dining hall
with fireplace and a screened
verandah. Delicious home cooked
meals are served buffet style. The
Recreation Hall, complete with
stage, fireplace and piano provides
space for games, crafts and
special activities. A modern
central washhouse provides all
conveniences. The site is wheelchair
accessible (except for the waterfront). The swim area is
supervised in the afternoon
by a qualified lifeguard. Kayaks,
canoes and windsurfers are available
in the boating area along with
instruction in their safe handling.
Mountain bikes are available
to explore some of the 32 hiking
trails throughout Riding Mountain
National Park. A Frisbee golf
course, a basketball hoop, a
bouldering wall and a volleyball
area add to the fun. A two-minute
walk from the main site is a
special nature activity area
for overnights for children,
just the right distance from
“home”. Wasaga’s morning
programs cater to the creative
urges and interests of children,
allowing parents time to pursue
their own interests, such as
joining the camp naturalist
on a guided hike or participating
in a canoe orientation. Do
as much as you want or as little
as you want. An experienced
staff leads the children in
interesting and imaginative
activities emphasizing learning
and fun in the outdoor environment. At
day’s end, enjoy a brilliant
sunset by the lake and join
in songs and games around a
roaring campfire. Adventurous
adults can join the guided night-time
“thriller hike”. Reflect back
on your beautiful day over a
hot cup of cocoa among friends
by the fireplace. Wasaga offers
a bursary to qualifying parents
of children sponsored by the
Sunshine Fund.
Camp Wasaga is
also available for group rentals in the Spring and Fall. Our facilities are ideal for youth groups, schools, family reunions, weddings, hiking, golfing and cycling groups, religious groups, organizational, and corporate retreats. We offer affordable rental accommodations and meals for weekend, extended-weekend, and week-long stays in May and June, as well as from mid-August until Thanksgiving.
