Camp Subsidy through the Sunshine Fund
Every child deserves the opportunity to go to camp regardless of race, faith, family income, or special needs. Camp is a place where everyone belongs.
The Manitoba Camping Association Sunshine Fund is here to help children experience the benefits of camp. We would not be able to provide this support without the generous support of our donors and granting agencies.
To apply for financial assistance, click here to download the Sunshine Fund application. To find out if you qualify please review the Statistics Canada Low Income Cut-Off chart below. If you qualify, the maximum subsidy amount is $700.00 per child per year.
Important: Due to the high number of applications we receive, the following information must be attached to your completed Sunshine Fund application in order to be considered.
Proof of income, examples include notice of assessment, pay stub, or letter of employment.
Minimum $25.00 non-refundable parent contribution per child. Please contact us with any questions or concerns in regards to parental financial contributions.
Copy of your Manitoba Health Card.
A letter or drawing indicating why a camp experience is important to you and/or your child.
Completed camp applications for you camp of choice should be sent directly to the camp indicating that you have applied for Sunshine Fund support.
Income Cut-Off Levels for 2017 Sunshine Fund Applications

Example 1- A family of 2 people (parent plus child) that has a gross yearly income of $35,000, does not qualify for Sunshine Fund assistance as the Low Income Cut-Off is $30,625 for families of this size.
Example 2 - A family of 4 people (2 parents and 2 children, or 1 parent and 3 children) with a gross yearly income of $35,000 does qualify for Sunshine Fund assistance as the Low Income Cut-Off for this size of family is $45,712.
Applications are reviewed on a first come first served basis. The number of children we can subsidize in any given year is dependant upon the funding available from public donations, and grants we receive.
Completed Sunshine Fund applications can be emailed, mailed, faxed, or dropped off in person.
